Earlier this week, I posted that my dad's car is running rough, but he's been working from home since then, 'cause he won't try to start his car in -20 degree weather, because he knows his battery is on its last legs.
He is too lazy to find a replacement (he comes up with the BMW's use a special battery bullshit).
I Connected a booster and it started right up, and it was running on on 5 cylinders instead of 6, so it's still Misfiring.
My guess is that one of the ignition coils went kaput, unless the spark plugs are all full of gunk.
Enjoy a BMW 3 series race car for the trouble.

What kind of BMW does he have?
The cold weather killed the battery on my E90 and after changing it I don't have to worry about starting it up in the freezing cold mornings.

He has an e90 330xi with the original battery. I'm wanting to get him a heavy duty one.

I have a 328i, it was on the original battery too. I'm doing fine with a regular battery but it usually doesn't get into the negatives where I live, it's just low teens here most of the time.

It's common for it to get under -20 in a cold snap here, this is where companies like Canadian Tire get rich.
